Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at C2020 – Understanding Our Participants

Equity, diversity and inclusion are among our key values.

As part of Canadian Evaluation Society’s (CES) and C2020’s commitment to promoting diversity, supporting inclusion and building equity through peer-to-peer learning, we are, for the first time, asking anyone submitting a proposal (workshop, paper, thematic breakfast) to voluntarily provide a small amount of sociocultural information, including gender identity, age, usual language, ancestry, and other minority identifications. We will also be asking for conference delegates, when they register, to self-identify on these same characteristics.

This information will be confidential and used by C2020 to better understand and consider ED&I in the development of the conference programme. It will also be used by C2020 in the subsequent sociocultural evaluation of all C2020 participants.

Individual responses will be privy only to members of the Program Committee; names and other identifiers will be excluded from all internal and external reports and communications. This information will be discarded once the conference evaluation report is complete.

Although we are excited by the possibilities for learning about EDI at C2020, we also recognize and will respect an individual’s choice to self-identify.
